For U.S. citizens, Fulbright supports study, research, or English teaching abroad.

• Duration: 8-12 months
• Coverage: 140+ countries

It can offer an overseas graduate scholarship route for eligible applicants. Non-U.S. citizens wanting to study in the U.S. should explore the Fulbright Foreign Student Program.

Boren Awards fund U.S. students studying languages linked to U.S. national security in key regions.

• Scholarships: Up to $25K for undergrads
• Fellowships: Up to $30K for grads

Longer overseas programs are preferred. Recipients must complete at least one year of federal government service after graduation.

FLAS supports eligible students studying approved foreign languages alongside area or international studies.
