On visiting the Malaysian Immigration website you’ll be bounced with a blue error window:
Because there is no such declaration by MOE Malaysia about the shut-downing. There is certainly nothing much to talk about at the moment.
That’s why I’m not removing the method, adopted earlier. And it can always be seen at the bottom of this page, labeled as The Old Practice. I guess, at least until the final word by the authorities.

Step-by-step method (Malaysia Visa Status for Work Permit)
Malaysia’s work permit visas may refer to employment passes for private foreign servants. i.e. gardeners, guards, housekeepers, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, or construction workers, etc. OR the employments passes of DP10(for professionals) and DP11(for expatriates) category.
In locals slang, everything I mentioned above is referred as the professional visa for Malaysia. Or sometimes Malaysia work permit visa. It includes all the categories and unanimously speak of one single word for them.
In short, anything other than student or visit visa passes, they use to consider as a work permit. It’s a mindset, you can say that.

As well as their authenticity from a credible source online.
After submitting the admission application to a Malaysian university. The students are issued an offer letter by their Malaysian institution. Followed by an approval letter from Ministry of Education Malaysia. And then another approval from Ministry of Immigration (Ministry of Home Affairs, Malaysia) to grant a student visa pass.
On receiving the application, the Ministry of Immigration Malaysia will scrutinize. All the data provided there will be examined throughout. In a few hours of submission, the information of the student will be updated there. Not only in the Immigration database but will also be visible on their website at the same.
Remember that, if you are pursuing your higher education (abroad) to Malaysia. You need to have a valid study visa (student pass) with you. So, make sure to run a visa check online before leaving your home country.
