Malaysia Visa Check: The Ultimate Guide

You already know that myIMMs e-services has gone from long. And now EMGS is the only way for Malaysia visa check online.

That much is clear.

But how to use EMGS to measure the credibility of student visa passes? In addition to, if it serves the same purpose? ..and stuff like that.

Alright, this is the talk of the town now a day.

For the reason that I was receiving inquiries about this article. Originally wrote in 2014, I spent last few weeks in researching and fact-finding.

And right now, I have some handy outcomes to share with you guys.

“Let’s move on and begin with Malaysia visa Check using EMGS Website”

Before jumping into the step-by-step method that you can use to check your visa status. I want to make it clear that the earlier method is no more working.

On visiting the Malaysian Immigration website you’ll be bounced with a blue error window:

myIMMs eServices Screenshoot

Because there is no such declaration by MOE Malaysia about the shut-downing. There is certainly nothing much to talk about at the moment.

That’s why I’m not removing the method, adopted earlier. And it can always be seen at the bottom of this page, labeled as The Old Practice. I guess, at least until the final word by the authorities.

Step-by-step method (Malaysia Visa Status for Work Permit)

Malaysia’s work permit visas may refer to employment passes for private foreign servants. i.e. gardeners, guards, housekeepers, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, or construction workers, etc. OR the employments passes of DP10(for professionals) and DP11(for expatriates) category.

In locals slang, everything I mentioned above is referred as the professional visa for Malaysia. Or sometimes Malaysia work permit visa. It includes all the categories and unanimously speak of one single word for them.

In short, anything other than student or visit visa passes, they use to consider as a work permit. It’s a mindset, you can say that.

Unfortunately, you can’t do it at the moment.

There is no other way else myIMMs e-services, to get it done on your own. You need to contact your institute, they are able to make a direct contact with Immigration.

However, we will update this guide as soon as we hear/know more from Immigration of Malaysia. Thank You!

    Not satisfactory.

      August 18, 2016 at 8:51 pm

Now that is kind of confusing, Ayesha.

If what you mean is EMGS, then you’re not alone. More & more of the students are voting it unsatisfactory. This method does not offer that level of user control as MyIMMS e-services used to give in the past. Perhaps EMGS is more likely only for the new applicants where you can’t access the current status of past visa applications.

On the other hand, if you’ve noticed some flaws in this guide please let us know what are they? We’ll appreciate if you plz stop by and drop in some details. Thanks!
