Malaysia Visa Check Post Banner

You already know that the earlier Malaysia Visa Check system is gone.

Or aren’t you?

Well, there comes a better alternative now.

Provided by the Immigration authorities of Malaysia, it is an incredible online tool for the international students to check their visas’ validity…

..to track & measure the credibility of their visa passes within 1 min or less.

And in this article today I’m going to show you what that tool exactly is… and how easily you can use it to fetch your visa application status online.

The Malaysia Visa Check Guide

Before getting into the details of new online Malaysia Visa Check system, let me tell you two things.

First,

This guide is aimed for those students, who are either interested in or going to study in Malaysia.

Those who are already studying in Malaysia or those who have applied in some Malaysian University/Institution.

And they all just don’t know one thing: “How to check their Malaysian Visa Validity status online.”

And the second,

The earlier method is no more working.

On visiting the Malaysian Immigration’s former website to Check Malaysia Visa status, you’ll be bounced by an error page:

Because there is no such declaration by MOE Malaysia about the shut-downing. There is certainly nothing much to talk about at the moment.

And now EMGS is the new alternative & the only way for the Malaysia Student Visa Check online.

That much is super clear.

Let’s move on and begin with Malaysia Visa Check using EMGS Website.

Malaysia Visa Check by Passport Number Step-by-Step Method

As of becoming the most preferred study destination worldwide. They have set up a proper visa checking procedure.

Often called Malaysia Visa Check system online.

The body is regulated by Immigration Authorities of Malaysia. And the Ministry of Home Affairs, Malaysia.

Provided that the students can check their visas’ validity. As well as its authenticity from a credible source online.

There are three easy steps to get it done:

Step 1: Navigating the right tab
Step 2: Filling details
Step 3: Measuring progress

Let me break them into the details.

Step No. 1: Navigate to The Right Tab

Open up the official website of the Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) in your browser:

https://educationmalaysia.gov.my

And then click on ‘TRACK MY APPLICATION’ link right after the EMGS logo on the left side.

Step No. 3: Measure The Progress

It’ll return the current status of your visa application if the Ministry of Education Malaysia has your record in their database.

Depending upon the stage of your visa application, it’ll reflect the percentage of completion.

If they’ve just received your application, the percentage of completion would be 0-10 %.

Normally, it takes about 3 to 4 week for the EMGS to process the application completely.

There’ll also be a summary of your application alongside, summarizing your visa application.

And the ‘Application Status & History’, indicating important events, as they’re happening.

That’s it. Now you know, how to check your Malaysian visa record kept by your host country Malaysia.

Go ahead and run a Malaysia Visa Check for your Visa application and then come back for more information.

On your returning back I’ll tell you further about the Malaysian Immigration scrutiny, approval process, and others.

Don’t worry I’ll be here.

How Things Work, A Complete Workflow from Applying to Getting a Malaysia visa…

Are you a first timer?

Applying for the Visa Application for the very first time and you have no idea what events may encounter?

Do you even need the answers to some basic questions like Whether or if you can apply online?

How to use Malaysia’s e-services, and when should you make an online application status inquiry?

In this section, I’ll talk about the sequence of events from initiation to the completion of your Student Visa Application.

But First, A Short Intro…

Malaysia is currently hosting 2% of the global population of the international students.

With a maximizing rate of 6% inbound mobile scholars in the country, this is huge among all other study destinations.

UNESCO reports that Malaysia was the hostage of about 63,625 students worldwide in 2011. And the number has intensified from the past years.

Pretty Awesome! hah.

Now Let’s See What Events Can Occur

Here’re four important stages every student goes through that.

#1: Obtaining the Offer Letter

On submitting the admission application to a Malaysian institution (i.e. College, University, etc.), they will initiate your admission process.

This could take up to 30 days and you’ll be issued an ‘Offer Letter’ from the said institution.

#2: Applying for the VAL

On receiving the Offer Letter, the students can apply for their ‘Visa Approval Letter’ (VAL).

Again, here comes in EMGS (Education Malaysia Global Services).

After paying EMGS fee, the students can make the submission to EMGS along with their all required documents (i.e. Photographs, Colored copy of passport, Testimonials, etc.)

Keep in mind, all documents should be attested by ‘Notary Public’.

On receiving the application, EMGS (An Institute of Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia) will scrutinize & examine all the data provided there.

In a few hours of submission, the information of the student will be updated in the EMGS database.

And it’ll be available to access through the EMGS website also.

Are you concerned about ‘Pertanyaan Status Permohonan’?

Well, after the submission to EMGS, the students can start tracking their visa application status anytime.

Which, on hitting the 70%, the students will be issued the VAL. This can take 3-4 weeks further.

I recommend you to stay tuned and visit the EMGS website occasionally.

Because, once your application is in their hands, its record will be available for you on the web with all lateral updates.

#3: Getting Your Visa Stamped

Once they have the VAL, the students can apply to get a Visa sticker on their passport from Malaysian High Commission in their home country.

#4: Buying One Way Ticket to Malaysia

Boom!

You now have all the permissions to land in Malaysia and study in their highly accredited educational institutions.

Just buy a one-way ticket, grab your backpack and fly to Malaysia.

A Word of  WARNING to Everyone

At this very point, you should also understand and be aware of the scam factor of the internet.

Some dishonest and fraudulent people have set up the similar but fake websites to bluff the innocent students.

These websites have almost the same appearance and layout as the real does have, but they’re the forged ones actually.

And How to Check Malaysia Visa is Original or Fake

First and foremost.

Run a Malaysia Visa Check online from the Official Portal of Higher Education Malaysia. (Look above into the Malaysia Visa Check Guide)

If you find your record in their database, you can predict that your Malaysia Visa is Original.

But if it fails to return anything about you, this is probably a big signal that your Visa is Fake.

Remember that, if you are pursuing your higher education abroad to Malaysia. You need to have a Valid study visa (student pass) with you.

So, make sure to run a visa check online before leaving your home country.

We will keep telling you about the new updates, all the precautionary measures to avoid these scams. And lifehacks to identify these scammers.

I’ve applied for the visa last two weeks on 21/05/2017. I’ve been trying to check and track my application status but no information is coming out. What do I do next? Thanks and God bless.

      Thank you, Aishatu.

Chance are, your application may have skipped during the submission process. It’s common. So make sure if your institution has made the proper (on time) submission of your application to EMGS.

      OR

Try confirming your visa type. EMGS facilitates only student visa passes at the moment.

    Not satisfactory.

Now that is kind of confusing, Ayesha.

If what you mean is EMGS, then you’re not alone. More & more of the students are voting it unsatisfactory. This method does not offer that level of user control as MyIMMS e-services used to give in the past. Perhaps EMGS is more likely only for the new applicants where you can’t access the current status of past visa applications.

On the other hand, if you’ve noticed some flaws in this guide please let us know what are they? We’ll appreciate if you plz stop by and drop in some details. Thanks!

I have submitted my passport for renewal.
How can I track my renewal process stage?

    I’m from Bangladesh.

Unfortunately, you can’t do it at the moment.

There is no other way else myIMMs e-services, to get it done on your own. You need to contact your institute, they are able to make a direct contact with Immigration.

However, we will update this guide as soon as we hear/know more from Immigration of Malaysia. Thank You!
